Kraft Heinz Recalls Kraft Singles Cheese Slices due to Choking Hazard

Kraft Heinz has issued a recall of nearly 84,000 cases of Kraft Singles cheese slices after receiving complaints from customers about a choking hazard. The food giant discovered that a faulty wrapping machine used in the manufacturing process was causing a thin strip of plastic film to remain on the cheese even after the packaging was removed. In six instances, customers reported choking or gagging due to the plastic film.

No injuries or health issues have been reported as a result of this manufacturing error. To address the issue, Kraft Heinz has fixed the wrapping machine and inspected other machines to ensure proper packaging. The company is urging customers who have purchased the affected products not to consume them and to return them to the store where they were purchased.

The recalled products include the 16 oz. Kraft Singles American Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product with an individual package UPC code of “0 2100061526 1” and a “Best When Used By” date between January 10, 2024, and January 27, 2024. The manufacturing code on the packages included in the recall will have an “S” and “72.”

It is worth noting that other major companies have also experienced manufacturing errors this year. In July, Trader Joe’s had to issue a recall for its Almond Windmill Cookies and Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies due to the potential presence of rocks.

Overall, it is important for consumers to be aware of product recalls and follow the instructions provided by the companies to ensure their safety and well-being.
