The award-winning independent restaurant, Mama Doreen’s Emporium, is expanding its presence in York with the launch of a second restaurant. The new location will be at the Vangarde Shopping Park and is set to open in November. This is a significant milestone for the business, which originally started as a cupcake stall in 2009.
Mama Doreen’s Emporium offers a variety of delicious treats, including afternoon teas, cupcakes, sweet treats, and celebration cakes. The new restaurant will feature an on-site bakery, similar to its flagship location in Harrogate. Customers can expect fresh, seasonal variations, such as the popular Winter Wonderland afternoon tea, which will be available from November through to the end of December.
Jessica Wyatt, co-owner of Mama Doreen’s Emporium, expressed her excitement about the expansion: “We never dreamed that our cupcakes would be so popular that we’d be opening up a second restaurant. We are proud to be an independent, family-run Yorkshire business, and we can’t wait for visitors to Vangarde to try our tasty treats.”
In preparation for the opening, Mama Doreen’s Emporium York is currently recruiting for part-time and full-time roles in both front and back of house positions. The restaurant prides itself on having a happy and positive working environment, with a focus on a better work-life balance for its staff.
In addition to its culinary endeavors, Mama Doreen’s Emporium has also shown its commitment to the community. The business recently donated children’s toys and books to the Family Room at The Leveson Centre, a local charity called York Against Cancer. This generous donation aims to create a welcoming and cheerful space for families affected by cancer to unwind and spend precious moments together.
The launch of the second restaurant in York is an exciting development for Mama Doreen’s Emporium. With its delectable treats and commitment to the community, the restaurant is sure to become a popular destination for all occasions.
