Manicotti Incident Leads to Threat of No Fly List

A United Airlines Premier 1K member named Sam recently shared a bizarre story about being threatened to be put on United’s “no fly list” by a flight attendant. The incident occurred when another flight attendant kindly offered Sam some manicotti.

Sam was traveling from New Orleans to Denver to Seattle when the incident took place. His upgrade cleared on the first flight, but not on the second. While the first flight was supposed to have a meal, it was accidentally not catered correctly.

As Sam was leaving the plane from the first flight, he casually mentioned to a flight attendant that he would love one of the manicotti dishes from first class on the next flight if there were any leftovers. To his surprise, the flight attendant said she would see what she could do.

When Sam got back on the plane 40 minutes later, he jokingly reminded the flight attendant about the manicotti. To his surprise, she discreetly handed him the dish. He thanked her for the kind gesture.

However, the purser, who had witnessed the exchange, confronted Sam and informed him that he was not allowed to eat a first class meal in economy, citing United’s policy. Sam accepted the decision without any issue.

However, 90 minutes into the flight, the nice flight attendant discreetly brought him the manicotti. Before he could even take a bite, the purser approached him again and said she would be “writing him up” for accepting the meal. She even threatened to put him on United’s no fly list.

The actions of the purser have caused shock and disbelief. The purser went out of her way to create unnecessary drama over a simple gesture. It is unclear why she reacted so strongly, especially since it was her colleague who served the dish.

This incident raises questions about customer service and professionalism. It is especially concerning considering Sam is a loyal customer and had already experienced an issue on a previous flight.

Overall, this story highlights the absurdity of the situation and leaves us wondering why such a minor incident escalated to the threat of being put on a no fly list.
