Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $596 Million

The Powerball lottery jackpot continues to climb after no one matched all six numbers on Wednesday night. The Saturday, Sept. 16th Powerball jackpot is estimated to be worth $596 million, with a cash option of $284.2 million.

The winning numbers for Saturday night’s drawing were 8, 11, 19, 24, 46, with the Powerball number being 5. The Power Play was 2X. However, the results for the drawing are still pending.

To win a prize in Powerball, you only need to match one number, which must be the Powerball. Matching one number and the Powerball will get you a prize of $4. But if you manage to match two numbers, you won’t win anything unless one of those numbers is the Powerball. In that case, your ticket will also be worth $4.

Drawings for the Powerball lottery are held three times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET.

Powerball has seen some massive jackpots in its history. The top 10 Powerball jackpots include the record-breaking $2.04 billion jackpot won on Nov. 7, 2022, in California, and the $1.586 billion jackpot won on Jan. 13, 2016, by winners in California, Florida, and Tennessee.

The Powerball jackpot serves as a reminder that dreams can come true with a single ticket. So, if you have a ticket, make sure to keep it safe until the results are announced. Who knows, you might just be the lucky winner of the $596 million jackpot.
