Tesla, Inc. announced on Monday the appointment of Vaibhav Taneja as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), replacing Zachary Kirkhorn. Taneja, an Indian-origin accounting expert known for his numerical expertise, will also continue in his current role as Chief Accounting Officer.

Taneja completed his B.Com degree from Delhi University in 1999 and became a Chartered Accountant in the year 2000 as part of the 2000 batch at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He later obtained certification as a Public Accountant in 2006.
Before joining Tesla, Taneja had a successful career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he spent 16 years. He held the positions of Assistant Manager and Senior Manager during his tenure at PwC. After that, he served as the Vice President of Accounting Operations and Corporate Controller at SolarCity.
With over twenty years of accounting expertise, Taneja has gained valuable experience working with multinational corporations across various industries such as technology, finance, retail, and telecommunications.
