Flagstar seeks community votes for $90,000 investment
Flagstar Bank has opened voting for the “Flagstar Crafts Community” initiative, where Flagstar will grant $5,000 to 18 nonprofits in the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin. Each of the 18 branches recently acquired by Flagstar will provide a grant to an eligible nonprofit for a total of $90,000. Up to two nonprofits are eligible for voting at each branch. Nominees were selected by local branch and regional managers for their alignment with Flagstar’s giving priorities.
“Flagstar Bank has a longstanding history of giving to local charities, donating $2.6 million in 2018 through grants from the Flagstar Foundation, community reinvestment activities, and diversity and inclusion initiatives,” said Gary Wolf, Flagstar Bank director of Branch Integration. “We’re proud to begin our investments in the U.P. and northern Wisconsin with an initiative that involves community participation.”
Voters can get information about the eligible nonprofits and how they intend to use the grant when they cast their vote online or at a branch. Each vote at a branch equals two votes for the nominated charity.
The voting period for “Flagstar Crafts Community” begins Thursday, April 4, and concludes Thursday, April 25.
