Local Family in Need

2 min read

The Gillett School District recently posted a letter on Facebook to support one of their second grade students. Her family was a victim of a house fire that was a total loss. This is a copy of the letter posted by Principal Curt Angeli. Below you will also find a list of items this family is in need of during this difficult time.

Kuehl Funeral Home of Gillett has reached out to the family and is providing an apartment for them to get them back on their feet. They have also offered to be another collection spot for donations.

To our Gillett Tiger Family:

Recently, one of our second-grade students suffered a tragedy when her family lost everything in a house fire. While all of the family is safe, the house was a total loss. We are organizing a donation drive at the Elementary School office to help our fellow Tiger family in their time of need. Clothing (seasonal), non-perishable food items, toys, and household items are all welcome, as well as gift cards. Thank you so much in advance for your thoughtfulness in this scary time for one of our student’s family.

The following are clothing sizes needed by the family:

Girl: shirts/sweatshirts size 7-8
shoe size 1
new underwear & socks

Adult Male: size 42 pants
2x shirt/sweatshirts
Shoe size:12
new underwear & socks

Adult Female: pants size 1x
shirts/sweatshirts size 1x
shoe size 8.5
new underwear & socks

The Elementary School office will be open on Friday, February 7th from 8:00-12:00. Mrs. Hansen will be in to accept donations. Otherwise, we will be open again on Monday, February 10th for a new week of school!

“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
