Experienced Parts Manager
The parts manager of Beaver Machine, Inc. is responsible for running a profitable and efficient parts department. He or she will accomplish objectives through
- purchasing procedures
- inventory control
- staff utilization
- pricing
- merchandising
- displaying
- advertising.
Part manager’s duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Forecast goals and objectives for department and strive to meet them
- Strive for harmony and teamwork within the parts department and with all other departments
- Work with the service manager and technicians to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs
- Attend meetings required by the managers, officers or coworkers
- Understand and comply with federal, state and local regulations that may affect parts purchases, sales, and shipping
- Train, motivate, coach and monitor the performance of all department staff
- Direct and schedule the activities of all parts department direct reports
- Provide technical assistance to parts coworkers and customers
- Conduct meetings with parts coworkers to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest to develop strategies for a more efficient operation
- Develop, enforce and monitor guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction
- Handle customer complaints immediately and according to Beaver Machine’s guidelines
- Give input on pricing structure that balances volume, customer loyalty and the cost of doing business
- Monitor and adjust inventory to obtain an 80% fill rate and maximize inventory turn rate
- Approve parts invoices in a timely manner to enable the company to take advantage of all available discounts
