Children's Library Assistant - Part Time
Job Summary:
Performs circulation and customer service functions. Answers directional questions and refers customers to appropriate materials. Assists with programming for children.
Hours: 20 hours per week, various days and hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs Circulation duties, such as checking materials in and out, handling bills and notices, placing items on hold, processing courier delivery, processing a variety of reports, and account maintenance. -Assists patrons with reference, computer, and equipment questions and support. -Assists in planning and implementing children’s programs, story times, and outreach activities. -Serves on internal and external committees and workgroups. -Shelves materials. -Seek donations and support for Summer Reading program. -Collecting crates of materials for patrons/organizations utilizing the delivery service. -Prepares bulletin boards and other displays.
