$1000 Reward Offered for Information about Recent Pet and Wildlife Poisonings

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is offering a $1000 reward for information regarding the poisoning of pets and other wildlife in Marinette, Florence and Bayfield counties.

Poison was found in rural areas on land managed by the U.S. Forest Service and the Goodman Timber Company.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said they don’t know if poison was left in other countries. Lab tests are being conducted to determine if other animals that have been found dead, including Coyotes, Weasels, Raccoons and a Wolf, were poisoned as well.

Authorities advise people in these areas keep their animals leased and stay near roadways.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the USFWS’ Madison office at (608) 221-1206.
