Forest County ATV trails open Friday, May 10
- PRESS RELEASE -
Source: Forest County ATV Association | Facebook | May 8, 2019
Who’s counting down the days?? We open in less than 40 hours! There are some things to be aware of:
1. The U.S. Forest Service - Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest is NOT OPEN yet. What does this affect? Our “Blackwell Connector” trail will be closed until the National Forest opens up. The trail is highlighted in the image below. “No ATV” Signs will be posted at the trail where it meets the Nicolet State Trail and also in Blackwell.
2. We will be replacing a culvert Friday morning on the Nicolet State Trail just South of Hwy G. We are hoping to have it done before you see us, but be aware!
3. We will be removing/replacing gravel on the Nicolet State Trail behind Carter Casino. This is from direct input from YOU, the riders! The trail is washboarded hours after grading it and we are replacing the current gravel with a different material to try to fix this. Be aware in case this project starts soon!
4. We are one of the very few Counties opening up this weekend and it’s supposed to be nice weather. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use your head, use caution, and use trail etiquette, and be aware of where you are riding. The trails will be busy.
5. Lastly, take pictures when out on the trail, taking a rest, at a pit stop, and POST THEM TO OUR PAGE! We LOVE to see all of our hard work pay off by you enjoying all we have!
RIDE ON!!
