Globalworth, a major real estate investor in Romania, has successfully installed a solar plant on the rooftop of its Industrial Park West in Oradea. This state-of-the-art installation consists of over 700 photovoltaic panels supplied by Canadian Solar, with a total power capacity of 297kWp.
The primary objective of this solar power installation is to significantly reduce energy consumption and associated costs for the tenant, iwis mobility systems. By integrating renewable energy sources into its properties, Globalworth aims to reduce operating costs for its tenants and decrease the carbon footprint of its portfolio. The company has set a target of achieving a 40% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030, starting from a baseline established in 2019.
Marian Popa, the Managing Director at Globalworth Romania, stated that the company plans to equip more of its assets with solar panels in the future to realize their carbon reduction goals. Globalworth has already implemented similar solar plants at Globalworth Square, Globalworth Plaza, and Timisoara Industrial Park. The combined power capacity of all existing solar plants in the Globalworth portfolio in Romania is approximately 834 kWp. The company plans to double this capacity with two new projects currently underway.
The installation of the solar plant at Industrial Park West showcases Globalworth’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions in the real estate sector. This initiative not only benefits its tenants by reducing costs but also makes a significant contribution to environmental conservation.
