In the ongoing divorce battle between Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner, new court documents reveal that Baumgartner is challenging their prenuptial agreement. According to documents obtained by RadarOnline, Baumgartner’s lawyer stated that she felt pressured to sign the agreement due to the circumstances surrounding its execution.
Baumgartner claims that Costner was not entirely transparent about his finances before she signed the “unconscionable” agreement. The documents state that Costner had extensive financial holdings, including bank accounts, investments, retirement accounts, real estate, land holdings, investments in closely held businesses, and other assets and liabilities. Baumgartner’s lawyer argues that she cannot determine if Costner’s disclosures in 2004 were “full and fair” until she has had the opportunity to conduct further investigation into his financial circumstances at that time.
Baumgartner’s suspicion is that she did not have a complete understanding of the scope of Costner’s finances when she signed the contract. If she was pressured into signing without knowing the full story, she believes that the prenup should be deemed invalid.
Costner’s legal team has already responded to Baumgartner’s request for extensive documents, calling it harassment, overbroad, burdensome, oppressive, and compound. It seems that neither party is backing down in this divorce battle.
