Capital Ltd, a provider of drilling solutions, saw its shares rise by 4.6% to 82.60 pence. However, year-to-date, the stock has experienced a decline of 14%, and over the last 12 months, it is down 4.0%.
Porvair PLC, a specialist filtration, laboratory, and environmental technology group, experienced a slight increase of 1.7% to 600.00p. The company provided a trading update for the nine months ended August 31, stating that it continues to trade “satisfactorily” in the third quarter and expects higher earnings for the full year compared to 2022. Porvair attributes its long-term earnings record to various global trends, such as tightening environmental regulations, growth in analytical science, and the need for clean water.
On the other hand, Regional REIT Ltd, a commercial property company, saw its shares decline by 7.9% to 41.12p. The release of its interim results revealed a pretax loss of GBP12.1 million in the first half of 2023, compared to a profit of GBP28.3 million in the previous year. As a result, Regional REIT reduced its interim dividend to 2.85p per share from 3.30p per share year-on-year. Stephen Inglis, CEO of London & Scottish Property Investment Management, the asset manager of Regional REIT, attributed the challenging period for the commercial real estate sector to rapidly rising interest rates impacting valuations.
