HCMC is gearing up for a vibrant New Year celebration with a wide array of cultural events and activities. The highlight of the festivities is the much-awaited fireworks display scheduled to illuminate the city’s night sky on New Year’s Eve.
Two firework displays are planned for the evening. A high-range display will take place from the Thu Thiem tunnel, which crosses the Saigon River in Thu Duc City. Additionally, a low-range fireworks show will be organized at Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11. Both performances will last for 15 minutes, from midnight to 12:15 am on January 1, 2024.
As part of the celebrations, HCMC will host the Entera Countdown 2024 party at Nguyen Hue Walking Street in District 1, featuring popular singers such as Toc Tien, Binz, Soobin, Karik, Rhymastic, GDucky, Phuong Ly, and more. A separate Luxury Countdown Party 2024, featuring renowned music stars like Ha Anh Tuan, Dong Nhi, Duong Hoang Yen, and the Chillies band, will be held in Thu Duc City.
In addition to the New Year’s Eve festivities, HCMC will provide a range of cultural activities throughout the city. These activities will take place in Thu Duc City, districts across HCMC, the HCMC Youth Cultural House, universities, colleges, dormitories, industrial parks, and processing zones on the night of December 31, 2023, and January 1, 2024.
For those interested in art and history, HCMC offers a variety of exhibitions and programs. The HCMC Museum is currently hosting an exhibition on the history of Saigon ceramics, featuring over 50 photos and nearly 200 artifacts. The HCMC Museum of History presents an exhibition titled “Long Van Khanh Hoi - Dragon Images in Vietnamese Culture,” showcasing 100 antiques from various dynasties.
Other museums and cultural institutions in HCMC will also open their doors during the New Year holiday. Visitors can enjoy water puppetry shows at the HCMC History Museum and circus-based plays at Gia Dinh Park. Additionally, several Vietnamese and foreign films will be screened in cinemas, offering entertainment options for all.
