City of Gillett, WI - Coronavirus Updates and other Information (Mar 16, 2020)
City of Gillett
PRESS RELEASE - 2020-03-16
The City of Gillett has been monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, and the Oconto Health Department regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Out of respect for the health and safety of our employees and the community, the City of Gillett has decided to close all municipal buildings to the public, effective Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice. These buildings include City Hall, Gillett Municipal Utilities, Gillett Municipal Court, and Public Works offices. All city public meetings will also be cancelled until further notice.
At this time, it is our intention to maintain all essential/critical city functions with our employees continuing in their normal capacity, while working within the facilities closed to the public. Residents will see no change in the level of services provided including public safety (Police/Fire), curbside services, etc. The recycle center will be closed to the public during this time.
All residents needing to make utility, city or municipal court payments to the City of Gillett or utility payments to Gillett Municipal Utilities can do so by mailing, placing their payments in the drop boxes located on the northwest corner of City Hall next to the Police Department door, or by utilizing the online payment portals that can be found on the city’s website). Gillett Municipal Court payments can also be made via the City Hall drop box or the online payment option.
For all other transactions including pet licensing, voter registration and in-office absentee voting, or any other questions, please contact City Hall at 920-855-2255.
The April 1st Gillett Municipal Court date has been rescheduled to May 6th. If payments have already been made, individuals may disregard their court date, unless it is mandatory.
Please continue to check the City of Gillett’s website at www.cityofgillett.com for further updated and announcements.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we do our part to help limit the exposure to our community.
