Dream Homes Become a Reality at the 2023 Tour of Homes

The Olympia Master Builders annual Tour of Homes, sponsored by Olympia Federal Savings, is just around the corner. This event allows attendees to see the trendiest paint colors, newest kitchen innovations, and up-and-coming architectural trends. Unlike watching home renovation shows or browsing through stores, the Tour of Homes provides a unique opportunity to see your favorite products in real, lived-in properties.

This year’s tour will feature seven remodels, three new builds, and a specialty solar project. Two properties on the tour are Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), which are typically tiny backyard homes designed for various purposes. The OMB has worked hard to promote ADU programs in partnership with local jurisdictions, making it possible to showcase the results of their efforts.

The event is sponsored by OlyFed, who recognizes the importance of housing in the community. Nicole Montoya, Tumwater OlyFed Branch Manager and Tour of Homes Co-Chair, explains that the event opens the door to homeownership by showcasing the work of builders, designers, architects, and other construction professionals. It also gives attendees the chance to learn about savings, budgets, lending tools, and the construction process from financial professionals like Montoya.

The Tour of Homes is a stress-free, zero-obligation way to gather information and get inspired. Whether you are looking to build, buy, remodel, or retrofit for energy efficiency, the tour provides insight and fun. Participants can pick up the Tour of Homes Guide at OlyFed branches, the OMB office, or the offices of the event’s silver sponsors. There will also be an interactive Google map available on the OMB website.

The tour runs on September 16 and 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is a self-guided tour and open to the public, with no admission fee. Attendees can vote in the People’s Choice Awards at each home and have a chance to win an Apple iPad 10. For lending opportunities or additional resources, interested individuals can contact OlyFed or visit OMB’s Hire a Pro business directory.

The Olympia Master Builders and OlyFed believe in building a strong, healthy community one welcome mat at a time.
