John Jansheski Sells Miami Beach Mansion for $57 Million

John Jansheski, the founder of dental products company DenTek, has sold his mansion in Miami Beach for $57 million. This price is $33 million lower than the initial asking price of $90 million. The property, located at 27 Star Island Drive, was sold to an undisclosed buyer. The listing agent, Dina Goldentayer of Douglas Elliman, and Chad Carroll of Compass, who represented the buyer, declined to comment on the identity of the buyer.

Jansheski purchased the 0.9-acre mansion on Star Island in 2011 for $10.8 million. He renovated the existing house and built a new waterfront mansion designed by the South African firm SAOTA in 2019. The combined properties span 19,800 square feet and feature seven bedrooms, twelve bathrooms, and four half-baths. Amenities include a pool, dock, gym, and sauna.

The mansion was originally listed for $90 million in January of last year. Due to a series of price reductions, it was taken off the market in March and relisted for $68 million in August. Chad Carroll described the sale as “significant” for Star Island and mentioned that the historical value of the property was an important draw for the buyer. The buyer plans to renovate the property.

With a sale price of $57 million, Jansheski’s mansion falls within the luxury real estate market known as “trophy properties.” South Florida, particularly Miami and Palm Beach, is a popular location for such high-end properties. Recent notable sales in the area include Jeff Bezos’ purchase of a property in Indian Creek Village for $68 million and a waterfront mansion bought by luxury car dealer Michael Cantanucci for $170 million.

Star Island continues to be a sought-after destination for both trophy property buyers and those seeking luxury homes below the trophy price threshold. Rapper Rick Ross recently acquired a mansion on Star Island for $35 million, further enhancing the island’s appeal among celebrities.
